"These spec worry me. Let me explain why when PS3 and Xbox 360 came out the processors and GPU's were near TOP tear to what was available on the market for PC/Mac but these specs are not only mid tear but by the time they are released there will already be another generation of graphics cards. Why do I care you might ask yourself? It's simple because I believe that all gamers should be able to enjoy games near equal footing however there is another reason and that is because consoles seems to be holding the gaming industry back. Little innovation, aged visuals (beyond two soul! exception but more of an interactive movie), it's bad enough that this gen of consoles are lasting so long causing IP's to grow stagnant and this E3 proved it. All console manufacturers press conferences were terrible and the one platform which did well was PC. Before you ask yes I own a PS3, Xbox 360 and a PC. I want Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo to give you more freedom as a gamer instead they spoon feed you $#*! like Face Book now on PS3 and so on. You should demand that the platform be an open one and that you should have the freedom should you wish to upgrade.

P.S. The CPU will allow for quicker development cycles and allow for decent ports on to the PS4 for multi-platform games. Also please redesign the controller its basically the same since the PS.

I somewhat agree. I don't think platform gamers want to upgrade. Most of my friends play console only, and they are very casual games who done push the system at all. They would probably fear opening it up and potentially ruining it.

But yes I agree, as the system manufacturer, sony needs to make the machines a lot more powerful/modern

This amazes me.
And not in a good way.
I own a PS3 myself and I'm happy with it.
But all games that are released on both PS3 and PC are scaled down on PS3.
For example BFBC2 or BF3 with less slots on servers and less good graphics, etc.
They need to make the consoles more advanced so that they don't need scaled down games.
I will not be buying a PS4. It's not up to par IMO.

You both make good points and thanks for the correction SwitchBlade I'm dyslexic and get things like that confused.
