Quantum physics have interesting theories that are reverberating science based on evidence that the future is probabalistic i.e. matter does not find a consistent state until it is perceived by a consciousness. This sounds like a computer game which is essentially a virtual reality. Sounds like there's some level of programming involved to decide matters state and then it's held in a database. Therefore, I propose our reality to be a fabrication. The big question is - what is reality really?
Small interjection: what do they mean by "consciousness"? Does this include rodents?
I'd say reality is the sum of the indivisible "quantums" in the world, such as the sun (which is inveriably sunny), gravity (which sucks) and death (which is universal to all consciousnesseses).
To quote Baudrillard: we may have simulations and simulacra, and live in a hyperreality. Yet, are these not our reality - does the original carbon copy even matter?
If reincarnation is a thing and your actions will determine what you reincarnate into. Then what does a snail have to do to get higher up in the chain? leave a perfect slime trail?

"what do they mean by "consciousness"? Does this include rodents?" why not, are they not conscious? I don't know the answer to that as all I know is that "I" am conscious.
"such as the sun (which is inveriably sunny)" - how do you know, do you watch it constantly?
"gravity (which sucks)" - gravity has no current explaination, only theory. It could be a law of attraction whereby I expect to belong to a planetary body therefore I exert a attration upon said body. How do you know which direction force is flowing?
"death (which is universal to all consciousnesseses)" - is it? I'd love some proof on this. I don't think we're in a position to say anything beyond there being a drop in animation of the flesh.
"does the original carbon copy even matter" - a moot point, it'd be (probably) beyond our comprehension anyways. I guess your point is that it's fruitless to attribute meaning to something beyond reach? I agree, unless there's a way to tap into that and explore.
Totally see your viewpoint Mazzy and (as always) have utmost respect for your arguments but I can't agree to much of the above. I think the point I'm trying to drive is that you can't really prove anything. Even "constants" such as the speed of light and gravity have changed over the years - a small amount but beyond error thresholds. What do you really know beyond the fact that you exist and experience?
If reincarnation is a thing and your actions will determine what you reincarnate into. Then what does a snail have to do to get higher up in the chain? leave a perfect slime trail?
Plot twist: What if a snail is already on top of the chain?

I cant wait to see where this goes. From quantum mechanics to the essence of life! So excited! :3
