Guys I really suggest you to watch Lone Survivor, just in case you didn't yet! It is based on the true story of Marcus Luttrel and the operation "Red Wings". Great fighting scenes, but not only, it's very touching and moving, and instills a deep brotherhood feeling! I recommend to look up for the real story to appreciate Lone Survivor even more, you really have to watch it, I rate 9 out of 10!

I watched it, it was ok but not one of the best movies I've ever seen. Then again, most war movies aren't that spectacular.

i think 7.6 is fair enough for this movie, if you really want a gripping war movie, then I suggest Generation War
For me, easily Black Hawk Down and The Hurt Locker. Followed by Jarhead, Fury, Enemy at the gates etc Lone Survivor is good but then also nothing REALLY special. Definetly reccomend it doe.
ha... ha.... ima say one name and then run away quickly: The Last Samurai

As for war movies, I like saving private ryan, Last samurai, band of brothers and fury. I say movies here is because I think they are great movies, but they dont really depict what happened very well.
A overlooked and underappreciated war movie is We Were Soldiers. YES its a mel gibson movie. YES the acting isnt all that great sometimes BUT it does depict the vietnam war very well with what actually happened. Where Apocolypse now, Platoon and FMJ are overly romanticized without much care of what actually happened. We Were Soldiers is a movie that really shows the US's mentality towards the war and underestimating their enemy. Also no one is villainized which in my opinion is very important.
Anyways if you havent seen We Were Soldiers I recommend doing so. It is a great looking movie with great attention for detail. It depicts the actual battles very well and is backed up by amazing pyro-technics and stunt. Oh and the score is absolutley amazing. where other movies vilainize the enemy or the US this movie doesnt and it is a breath of fresh air.
Audio is love, audio is life.
