Ask me anything Thread

Alright guys,

In regards that we need more random threads on this site to support its popularity I decided to make this sort of random thread.

In this thread you may ask me anything that you like! Within the ToS of course Tongue This can be any type of question and I will try to anwser it to my knowledge or beliefs.

My specialties are:

- Animals

- Biology

- Medicine

- Computers

- Gaming

You may even ask personal questions or my secrets to gaming and I will anwser them to an extend that im comfortable with. The point is to have a friendly and fun discussion where everybody is free to add or correct me at anytime in a friendly fashion. Being wrong is always fun to me since you will learn from your mistakes and I love learning. Also I belief that this will stimulate me to research different topics to extend my knowledge which will be beneficial to my study Big Grin

Hope to see many interesting and fun questions here Wink

Random threads you say?!?....

Random threads you say?!?..... AWESOME!!!

ok: tell me about your vision on death. What do you think happens and what would you want to be done to your body afterwards. Cremate or bury and the ashes, spread them or keep them in a jar? and why?

Do mind that we dont take this to the Religious level. Smile

I love learning things, and being wrong is part of learning. I love being right but if someone can show me that im wrong in a constructive way I love that aswell, it shows maturity in their part and also friendship. I have always defined myself by being the top of my class (not so difficult if im studying under my level right now XD) and sometimes its what I seek comfort in. I love my job and my study, its most likely soemthing I enjoy most next to gaming, so learning something new about it excites me Tongue

Oh sorry exxi, I must have

Oh sorry exxi, I must have looked over it ROFL

My vision on death is very simple. Everything we see, smell ect are all singals in our body and because of complex systems and different kind of signals these get translated into what we experience. I already covered some of this in another topic so i wont go in depth again.

When we die, these signals stop,  so we do not experience anything. some cells might live a little longer in your body than others but thats on cellular level. When we die we simply are gone, our hart stops pumping, our nerves stop depolarizing and our cells stop reproducing and die. we are not concious of anything anymore since those signals are no longer being transported and processed. The whole YOU or ME does not exist anymore.

So simply put, I believe in nothing other than that we live and die. There is no soul part, no afterlife or whatsoever. Which to me is more comforting and easing than anything else.

Also i want my remains to be cremated and my ashes to be cast out onto a location if which I am still debating. most likely the most cliché: over the sea. This way I take up minimal space after  my death, since I do not believe that a body yields any worth of the person that it was I do not want my body to bother others because of that. I want people to remember me how I lived, not how I died. So why remember a boring old grave that has some kind of cliché quote on it when you can remember me in all kinds of places and memories

I think exactly the same as

I think exactly the same as you about death, except for what has to happen with my body. Since I will not be able to experience anything anymore after I die, I do not feel like I should be the one to decide what happens to my body. I think that my family should decide what to do with my body, so they can deal with my death in whatever way they want. If they want me to be buried, let them. If they want my body to be donated to science, let them. Spreading your ashes over the sea might not seem selfish to you, because you're not wasting potential valuable space, but it might hurt other people their feelings.

That is actually a good point. but keep in mind, if you do not decide what to do with your body your family will have awefull fights in your family. I have had it in the past even when she said she wanted to be cremated.

I don't think it will cause a fight in my family, there's always a solution here Smile But you have to keep the group of responsible persons as small as possible (parents, siblings or children). And as you said, if there's gonna be fights, they will also happen when the choice is made by me (maybe even a bigger chance).

Oh dear schwarz. please ask more understandable questions to peasants like me Tongue maybe the increase in cancer is because they are eating radiated food from Fukushima Tongue

What might be a better explaination in also our culture is eating behavior. So it might be a food related problem rather than a bacteria one

About food: my parents are

About food: my parents are about 10 and 20 centimeters smaller than i am, and my lil sister is very tall aswell. Also my lil brother is growing insanely quick. So generally, small parents produce tall children. We have a theory for this but no scientific knowledge to back it up. So im wondering if you might.
The theory: because animals held for their meat get a lot of stuff through their food that increases growth to increase the amount of meat they produce, it could be that these growth accelerators are still in the meat, thus because of us eating a lot of meat it works on us aswell, thus growing us taller than anticipated?

The use of hormones is actually not that common in holland or any neighboring countries. And even if they had recieved it, there is a waiting period before the animal can be butchered for production to ensure any medicines or substances have left the body.

What i suspect, because im taller than my parents aswell is that the genes for being tall are already present but your parents did not have the right circumstances to actually grow further than they did. You most likely have more benificial circumstances to grow up in than your parents did. This can range from food to health care to certain surroundings.

In our countries hormones are not that commonly used and some of them are actually forbidden, it more a media thing than the actual truth.

That is quite a long story

That is quite a long story ROFL

The beginning of the universe has several theories that speak of how it started. I like the balloon theory. Where the universe expands (big bang) and keeps on expanding until it rapidly deflates (like a balloon) returning to its original state and repeat.

Now as for our planet:
Sand and other particles act very different in zero gravity environments. It clumps together. So simply put, our planet is made up from smaller granulates that were floating around in space after the big bang.

Now for water:
Asteroids often contain water inside them, at the time millions of these must have hit earth which was a hot ball of fire, magma and dirt. That would heat up the ice in the asteroids and turn it into liquid.

Now for the first organisms:
Organic structures are made up from always these elements Carbon, Hydrogen and Oxygen. Which were plenty.
Now, I have seen quite the interesting documentary about this in the past but I cant seem to find it.

Around these craters of magma ect a special thing happened with certain elements that were involved. These would create microscopic bubbles, that if shook, they would divide evenly and grow back to their original state.

Scientists have been able to bind 2 of the 3 chemicals that are needed for RNA (the predecessor of DNA) with just heat and water. So this might be the solution of where we came from. A possibility is, is that the RNA got in such a bubble and tada, your first primitive cell.

Another theory of course, is that we originate from another planet. While many believe this to be ridiculous I find it plausible.
A way of proving Extra terrestrial life is finding something that does not belong or differs from everything else.

There is a bacteria strain (GFAJ-1) that uses arsenic to bind its DNA rather that what every organism else uses: Phosphor. Arsenic is extremely poisonous to every organism since it will fend off the phosphor in your DNA. But these bacteria's thrive in it.

So it might be, we come from another planet or that bacteria strain that travelled through asteroids.

It can also be explained that they are just a bacteria strain that is left over from when the earth was still a fireball and we just adapted, but I find the other theory a bit more exciting.

Now how we came to existence, simply put: evolution, trail and error. What works stays and thrives, what doesn't dies off. If our environment was a little bit different, we might have turned out completely different.

Hope that explains it, I can talk for days on end about this but I hope this will suffice.

Its actually called papa smurf in english. But no of course not. Papa smurf was a genetic experiment of the goverment to see if they could create the perfect super soldier. All got out of hand and papa smurf escaped killing the scientists on site.

Now he lives in hiding and has taking leadership over the smurfs by force waiting for the day until they discover him. gargamel is actually an undercover agent trying to capture him
