At first it may not seem that

At first it may not seem that fun but just stick with it, it gets very rewarding once you learn it.

Up until now I havent been

Up until now I havent been convinced completely yet. I see the potential but some design flaws really limit the overal potential.

Setting up the game:

This is a section they really overlooked and has some serious flaws. Upon creating my first account I did not meet any problems. However when I tried to find Schwarzflug and XPT700 it became very clear that I was in the wrong server. I was on the EU east server (The Netherlands are part of the WESTERN part of europe) while I needed to be on the west. So I headed to the store and saw I had to PAY actual money to unlock a server. I understand that they have to split the players across servers but to actually pay for changing servers is completely out of line. I would much rather see a system like planetside 2 where you will have to create a new character for each server. This is a huge oversight since for a new player it is not very apparent which server he is selecting.

So after going through the tedious character creating again and selecting the proper server I noticed how cluncky the launcher is. Downloading the game is tedious even with my internet (120Mb/s down and 10Mb/p up) it showed regular freezes and ups and downs. The layout of the launcher is shoddy at best only really revealing the play button properly and the rest is crammed into weird menu's and places.

Launching the game itself is pretty straight forward and the invite/friend system works well. Once actually loading the game I noticed how long the loading times are. I have not installed it on a SSD because of storage sake but I did not expet it to take so long since it is a pretty small map that has to be loaded (which points towards a subpar engine). The graphics are nice but the game is demanding. Do not get me wrong im getting well over 100-180 fps but comparing that to the much better looking game counter strike which runs at 200+ fps constantly this seems pretty weird. Here I come back to the shoddy engine, the part that saves this game is that it is beautifull without being nice looking. Its beauty comes from art direction. This is why the shoddy engine does not come to light since they do not tax it.

Gameplay:

First off I noticed a design choice I really did not like: the randomized champions and that you have to purchase them to get used to a steady character. I would much rather see a system like CSGO where you can buy skins but the champoins are free of charge. To me this is money grabbing to the fullest which actually affects gameplay and skill.

Now the strongest point of League, the actuall gameplay. Without much knowledge I was able to see that there is a great amount of depth of the gameplay and also skill (I like personal skill better though). The gameplay is smooth, strong and fun.

Summary:

League seems like a fun game but is crippled by a shoddy launcher, crappy design flaws, a subpar engine and a lack of any real AA options.

Will I play this more, most definatly but it will not take me away from CSGO and Battlefield 4 since those in my opinion are much better games

I actually want to know the

I actually want to know the same as BBird causs then i can convince more people >:D

Good to see you tried out something new. The champions for ingame money is just something you will hate now, but the underlying thought is to force people to play on different spots with different champs so they have played all of these positions and roughly know what they do or do not like. In time you will get comfortable with a certain position and certain champs and by then you will have the ingame credits to buy one or two Smile

Good luck and have fun!

In my opinion the money

In my opinion the money grabing nature of locking champions behind either in game money or real money is no better than battlefield. I want to use the GOL Magnum so I can either play for ages till I unlock it or I can use a kit unlock. 95% of players will go through the grind but it's that 5% that make kit unlocks or charging real money for champions worth it for EA or Riot.

The launcher is tied to Adobe air atm but in a couple months they are switching it over to an in-house solution and as for the games shoddy engine, it's actually the summoners rift map that is poorly optimised has I get fine framerates on all the other maps that were released later. Hense why they are updating summoners rift to be more opimised along with a better art style, you can have a look here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_e_N4WpqH5o

But yeah, the locking server switch behind a pay wall is ridiculous.

Also thought I would put this

Also thought I would put this simple guide to champions here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IjVvkR3zag

THE CARRY

A weak hero with high potential who is "carried" by the team early on, until he or she is strong enough to “carry” the team to victory.

THE SUPPORT (The best role :P)

A hero who protects the carry and supports the team.

THE MAGE

Powerful in the mid-game, a damage-dealing champion who usually begins in the center lane.

THE TANK

In large team battles, the tank shields the rest of the team from damage while staying on the front lines.

THE JUNGLER

A resilient champion who roams the jungle between players. The jungler adds tension and suspense, appearing suddenly to kill an enemy or help an ally in trouble.
