The succesful launch of Hardline

I played today and realised how cheated I feel by this game. They could've told me that they had only 3 assault rifles, 2 PDW's, 1 sniper rifle, and 2 battle rifles. If I knew at the time I bought it, that there would only be 6 playable weapons in the game, I sure wouldn't have proceeded buying it. Other than that there are 2 playable gamemodes.

I thought they would fix things for this release but it seems like the critique went into one ear and out through the other one. Yes, the netcode is better but not better than BF4's. DICE has pretty much fixed BF4 and I wish that I could say the same thing about Visceral, but no. What did they even think making the guns other than the good ones so bad? In BF4 it was hard to play with a bad gun when the weapons were inbalanced but in Hardline it's almost-, if not impossible. I know there's a patch coming up, but from what I've heard that's not going to nerf all the guns but will focus on the K10. If they want a faster time to kill I understand but then all they have to do is buff every other gun and it will be alright.

For example I was playing a bit with the HCAR which has a RPM of only 450, it has a very high kick and is extremely hard to handle, still it doesn't deal that much damage, at 50 metres it only does 24 damage, which means that it'll take 5 bullets to kill someone only 50 metres away. To me this just isn't fair, I love high-kick weapons as long as they do the damage they're supposed to. Look at the G3A3 in BF3, it did enormous amounts of damage while being hard handled, not OP, but in Hardline I see no point in discovering and mastering hard to handle weapons as they're not worth it. The SCAR-H fires faster than the HCAR, reloads faster, has less recoil but worst of all they do the same damage, they have the same exact damage module, *clap, clap, clap* good work Visceral.

Even though this is on Visceral, the ones that I feel cheated on the most by is the commentators like XFactor, Levelcap, Matimi0, as they're supposed to be the gateway between the community and the devs. In stead they have been promoting this game which I can't find a reason to do.

And with that said my little rant is over. Feel free to contribute to the hate, and let's get Visceral to fix this game (as I do think it has A LOT of potential).

This game, of which you speak

This game, of which you speak so negatively, is for me(!!!) the best Battlefield game I've played and it has the best potential not to die after half a year, even more, it can turn into a serious competitive game. As your thread title says, the launch was successful (it runs almost like a clock), especially in comparison with the previous Battlefield abomination called BF4, which was simply un-playable for the majority of the year and brought shame to the BF series. Hardline does NOT offer the best battlefield doe (no pesky tanks, jets and vast maps which i absolutely hate). Some of us love it, some of you hate it and it'll always be like that...or maybe you can embrace it and have fun playing with us? Smile

Personally I really like

Personally I really like Hardline. I can only agree with you on the current small-ish weapon pool and gamemodes (since I only really play Heist or Blood Money, with the occasional TDM/Conquest thrown in). Additionally you are definitely right that the battle rifles are high risk/low reward atm, but most of the enforcers kit is most useful in CQB anyway so I don't find it being much of an issue, although I would expect the HARs to get a slight control-ability buff. The rest of the guns are fine IMO, with only the K10 needing an increase in the speed of damage drop off to make it balanced (K10 = the Vector .45ACP, one of the most lethal CQB weapons in current service, so at least it is doing what it would irl).

Regarding the hitreg and netcode, I dunno what game you are playing but from my experience with a multitude to shooters Hardline sits fine. As J3nx said above, BF4 is most certainly the ugly duckling of the BF franchise, and quite frankly never was "fixed" despite their many claims.

Of course you are welcome to your own opinion, thanks for sharing, and I hope the game can be tweaked to make you feel better about it. Smile

I'll always say BF2142 was the height of the true BF experience; Good graphics at the time of it's release, balanced vehicles/weapons, excellent map design, and a good experience/reward structure. But that's just my opinion!

PS: Good to see you back, hope to see you more often on TS again once you get your mic fixed!

I really did not mean that it

I really did not mean that it will forever stay a bad game but that it's at the moment not enjoyable as i find myself either being spawnkilled or backraged when others spawn behind me. I really like CQB so that the vehicles and great maps are gone doesn't really matter, but what do get on my nerves is that you can be the best player in the world and you will still lose a firefight just because of your weapon. Regarding the realism, it is true that the K10 is a very good CQB gun IRL, but i don't really think that it should have anything to do with the game, as it's not realistic in the first place, hell not even BF4 is realistic. I don't play it for realism but for enjoying a fun and balanced game. TBH none of the gamemodes make sense realism-wise, the physics are not particulary realistic, not even the uniforms are, so the realism isn't top priority, to me anyway. IRL there are guns that are better than others but that wouldn't make for a fun game, the cops would win every time as they have better equipment. A fun thing to experiment with (according to me at least) would be to give all the guns the same DPS which would make for a more skill based game. What i really wanted to get out there was that i don't think the commentators have sone their part. Although we can complain, they are the ones who makes things happen. I would love to see a CTE for Hardline as it feels like many of the changes that has been implemented into BF4 has not been transferred to Hardline, and it's a great way to develop the game. I really think they've got to do something about the weapon balance if I'm to play it for an extended period of time.

I'll give you that guys, the

I'll give you that guys, the weapon pool is a bit low, but here's the thing: normally a player sticks to his favourite gun when he finds one. Like in BF3, the majority of assaults were playing with M16A3, simply because it was allaround the best and easiest weapon to perform well with. If you are a lil lil bit serious and dont play the game only for fun, you're gonna stick with one weapon (the most OP one that the majority uses) sooner or later. Ofcourse there are times that one wants to try other weapons (for the service stars, fun or maybe because of the gun's reputation - we all wanted to try an UZI, just because it's that little world famous ugly UZI, same thing with AUG, AK etc.) buuuut, again, sooner or later, if you want to do good in the game, you're gonna unlock M416's weapon licence and rank up some serious hours with it Tongue and i'm sure DLC's will bring more weapons anyway Big Grin

I also agree about spawnkilling, but you can find that only on TDM where the spawns are really f-up, but it's hard not to get spawnkilled once in a minute, if there are 32 or maybe even -oh god my eyes!- 64 enemies running around on these small maps.

As for the K10 here's a lil tip. We all hate it when we play against it. We all love it when we are the ones spraying with -oh god noes, my eyes- 1200 RPM. The community says it's OP, there are some who say it's not - well, it is, you cant win if you say it's not because of the countless proofs in-game. Dont hate on it going "noobish k10 users, stop using the OP gun, i'm never going to use that thing...bla bla". It's going to get nerfed sooner or later, that's almost a fact. So why dont you all use it, even if only for boosting your stats, now that it's still OP? Take a K10, go play Bank Heist, flank all the way around, place a spawn beacon somewhere safe, backrape the poop outta them - repeat Big Grin

If you're going to complain and not use the K10 - fine by me. I dont care...the camper on the objective - he doesnt care...the madman running around spraying everyone down in a matter of milliseconds - nope, doesnt care Tongue as i got a little carried away...here i end my praise to the allmighty king of the SMGs - the KRISS Vector! Big Grin

It really seems that the weapons are causing most of the hate and rants against the game, not the netcode or anything that has to do with how the game runs/performs. I still got hit whilst behind the cover, but only like a few times Smile

My only wish is they somehow implement a competitive mode. And yes oskol, it's good to hear from you again mate, hope we'll have some games together this week Smile

Competitive play will be

Competitive play will be supported for Premium players J3nx, once it is implemented, I've no other info about what it'll be like though.

I didn't mean to rant on the

I didn't mean to rant on the K10! My point was that they shouldn't be so certain about realism as the game would be unbelievably unbalanced as some guns IRL are better than others, as well as making the playstyle draggingly slow. Except that, I don't think it's ok to make DLCs to give the community more than 3 usable assault rifles. Otherwise I do enjoy the game, the new game modes and the new animations (knifing mainly Tongue ), but just because it's not as bad as BF4 it doesn't mean that they don't have to fix things. I do have to admit that the main post was written in anger, so take it with a pinch of salt!

Hope to see you on the battlefield soon!

Well, I played the game for a while but I've grown tired of it already. I expected much more from the game and feel like it was a waste of cash.

I'm gonna stick with BF4 Smile

<p>To get the syndicate

<p>To get the syndicate assignment you need to unlock the 'Tier 4 Rep Track' in 10 different matches (these are the little abilities you can spec if you press and hold Q), the only downside of this is that it's very hard to do this on your own, thus the hacker role comes into play (the commander mode, but only in Hardline). Here you can promote squads so they get the next rep track. You could do this for ten consecutive matches and then change. Then both would have it in zero time!&nbsp;</p>
<p>Notice that you need to have the assignment unlocked to be able to do this.</p>
<p>The requirements for the Assault assignment:</p>
<p>Operator Assignment 2</p>
<p>10 operator specific guns and/or gadgets purchased</p>
<p>Unlock 'Operator Gold Service Star 1'</p>

In all honesty the K10 should feel op at close ranges cause thats what it was designed for.

But why did they nerf the AKM

But why did they nerf the AKM doe? Shock I played with it yesterday, just could NOT kill an enemy on somewhere 50m range (only with scope though). K10 does feel a bit weaker but as I said still OP at close range and as exxi said it should be, considering its 1200 RPM. You guys gotta try the RO now, it's almost on par with the M416 - despite its 15 damage per bullet, it still kills really fast. Decrasing the vertical recoil makes the enforcer class is soooo dope right now Big Grin
